Kendall Zhu: The Tiananmen Square Protests of 1989 - China's Shattered Enlightenment
(Kendall Zhu is a high school sophomore in Massachusetts. This paper was written just before his 15th birthday, as a partial fulfillment to his World History course assignment, a submission to the 2014 National History Day Contest.)

After all others had been silenced, his lonely act of defiance against the Chinese regime amazed the world. What became of him? And 17 years later, has China succeeded in erasing this event from its history?
